Why we do what we do
3 themes of Baptiste Yoga™:
-Asana (physical practice) - As an access to vitality, power, & freedom
-Meditation - As an access to getting present & awakening
-Inquiry - As an access to discovery and new possibility
Why these practices work:
A potent physical yoga practice, meditation practice and active self inquiry are used as tools of transformation – encouraging participants to reclaim their full potential, discover creativity, awaken passion, create authenticity, confidence and new possibilities. Baptiste Yoga™ places emphasis on clear language and a strategic technique that makes Baptiste Yoga™ accessible to everyone regardless of fitness level, age, experience or background.
We use a specific sequence of postures as our blueprint and foundation for teaching yoga at Revolution power yoga. The “Journey Into Power” sequence was developed by Baron Baptiste after a lifetime of practice and study of yoga. This sequence is one of the most well rounded yoga practices out there, working all parts of the body. With a strong emphasis on true north alignment this practice is designed to strengthen, stretch, awaken, rejuvenate, and restore the body, mind, and spirit. With this as our blueprint we use this sequence to build a strong practice and learn how to play and create from it and with it. Without a strong foundation nothing can be built. Most classes do not have music. This follows in the tradition passed down to Baron from his teachers as well as it is part of the Baptiste teaching methodology giving access to a deeper listening to one's own breath, body, and intuition.
Transformation is an endless process meant to be lived. It cannot be captured or possessed; you can only participate in it.
